Welcome! My name is Phebe!
The creator of The Noun M. I want to share my story and how I decided on this journey. I am a Native American -Thai woman, a 2014 graduate, a healer, a DIYer & PNW adventurer.
I am a Mother to an energetic 3-year-old boy, Lincoln, and I am Married to a Man named Shane, who cares deeply about everyone and everything and has the patience of an earthworm.
Brought up in the Pacific Northwest, more specifically, the Olympic Peninsula, (I am proud to call home), I was a stranger to the nuclear family dynamic. At the age of 4- I had an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother. We were taken from our home from Social Services. Learn what that story looked like for me, here. I grew up in foster care but thanks to my brave Native American Mother, we were all 4 adopted together. My Mother was a single Mom of four of her own biological children. She took care of all 8 of us.
I wanted to be a Mother my whole young life. Growing up the main reason I desired to be a Mother was more about wanting to prove that I could do it or wondered why my biological Mother couldn’t do it. Now, as a Mother of a beautiful outgoing three-year-old boy, I can’t imagine a world without him. I can’t imagine anything more important than him. I see a lot of me in him, which shows me I am doing something right, we are Native and have the stubbornness to fight for what we feel is right.
How can I help you?
My blog, The Noun M, is inspired by my Miscarriage, Marriage, Maternity, and Motherhood experiences. I will walk you through ways I manage to get through the ups and downs of these nouns, these M’s. I will discuss the difficult conversations we have as a society and hopefully, I can help shed light on the difficulties we face as women and the ways I’ve learned to combat them. I love connecting with those who are thriving and those who are striving to do their best but feel like they’re drowning. I’m both. Like you, I sometimes feel like I am barely staying afloat and there are days where I feel like I can do it with my eyes shut.
