I am totally in love with my newfound love for myself. Hear me out. I do not self-care- I may fantasize over it but truly there is a different breed of humans like us and that is the healers. Those who are so spent and so focused on helping others. I recently have found a new addiction – well it’s been something I’ve had a goal for but never took it too seriously. I am addicted to my skincare regimen.
If you’ve ever gotten into something – so passionate about something you may relate to this. I am that girl that gets on and off the bandwagon of things and is quick to judge results and quit. I just don’t see the joy in wasting my time. I for years have seen women in magazines and on social talk about their skincare and how they get it to look so amazing.
In fact, the only scrutiny I’ve received was from my beloved esthetician, who added a million steps to my already complicated morning routines (with a toddler). I didn’t have the time to make such ridiculous additions to my morning.
Honestly, the simpler the better. I would like to just wash my face and add some moisturizer.
Then I turned 30. It was all the craze before but now like most things- I just saw the signs I had been ignoring. Now, don’t get me wrong- I’ve had breakouts and uneven skin pigmentation my whole life, but it never dawned on me as an issue. Ooh pick me! I’m first to admit that I’m comfortable in my own skin. Yet, I am the first to try something if it’s been handed to me.
Like, let’s be so real and say that if you’re going to let me try a product for free. I’m all ears. I will give you my honest opinion even. But if I have to walk through isles and isles to find the best moisturizer for my skin type- I would tell you to go to hell. There is one moisturizer for me and it’s the same damn lotion I would use for my skin. I wouldn’t give anything more to the beauty industry than I already have to.
Women, women, women… Are we really so blind to see that it isn’t all about the creams, serums, and gels – then at the end of the day we’ve run out of or a new ‘trending, proven’ item is being shoved in our faces? I’m making zilch progress and these companies are making millions. I say take the wondering out for me and just give me the answers. Well…
They have.. I literally have not gone totally off the deep end but I have some acne scars that completely have decided to move in for good and I just wanted them gone. So – I did what any newb would do and googled the best acne scarring remedies and boom- I’m not crazy- but it’s affordable too.
These 3 are my go-to’s and will let anyone know – if you’re willing to try these products you will not, I repeat, will not go bankrupt and feel like an idiot for trying. Don’t believe me? Just find out yourself. Order it here. Try it for 2 weeks and see if your skin hasn’t magically blossomed. Obviously- I’m no skin guru. But what I am is impatient and don’t want to use a $50 serum to find out it’s shit and I am on the hunt again. Please do yourself a favor and look it up. Then go grab here or find all of The Ordinary’s products at Ulta.
Do you want to know my morning regimen and night regimen? My before and afters? If so- I would love a comment below letting me know.
I do not recommend using the Niacinamide back to back with the Vitamin C. I end up alternating them, so one in the morning and the other at night (either will be fine for results) but I honestly prefer Vitamin C at night as it gives it more time to sink into my skin (I feel). Then I follow with the hyaluronic acid (morning and night) then a moisturizer. Muah! Like instant gratification that I am an adult and have amaze skin.
