I am a busy work-from-home mom. I am also the budget-friendly. I often find myself stuck looking for self-help or looking for ways to stay positive. Are you someone who loves reading books but doesn’t always have the time to sit down and read them? Or maybe you’re someone who loves listening to stories while you’re on-the-go? If so, you’re in luck because your local library may offer an app called Libby that lets you borrow and listen to audiobooks for free!
Libby is a user-friendly app that allows you to access your local library’s collection of digital audiobooks. Here’s how to get started with Libby:
1. Get a library card: The first step to accessing Libby is to have a valid library card. If you don’t have a library card, visit your local library and apply for one.
2. Download the Libby app: Once you have your library card, you can download the Libby app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
3. Sign in: Open the app and sign in with your library card credentials. You may also need to enter your library’s name or location to access their digital collection.
4. Browse and borrow: Once you’re signed in, you can browse the library’s collection of digital audiobooks. You can search for a specific title, author, or genre, or browse the different categories available.
5. Borrow and download: When you find an audiobook you’re interested in, click the “Borrow” button to check it out. You can borrow up to 10 titles at a time. Once you borrow an audiobook, it will be downloaded to your device so you can listen to it offline.
6. Listen: Now that you’ve borrowed an audiobook, it’s time to start listening. You can listen to audiobooks on Libby while you’re commuting, working out, or doing household chores while watching your kiddos. The app also lets you adjust the playback speed and skip ahead or back in the book.
7. Return: Once you’re finished with an audiobook, you can return it early to free up space on your device for other titles. Audiobooks will also be automatically returned when the borrowing period ends.
Libby is a fantastic app that allows you to access your local library’s collection of digital audiobooks for free. By following these simple steps, you can start listening to your favorite books on-the-go today!
