Hey, mommy hack coming your way! Ever felt so lonely you just needed someone to lean on. Marriage and motherhood can be so demanding and you don’t always feel like calling your bestie or sister up to tell them the same old struggle? Girlfriend, I’ve been there. Sometimes, especially with social media, you don’t want to put all your stuff on blast. Like, sure you’re upset, you just need a little more support and help from your husband, boyfriend or partner. Or you know you’re an amazing mama but you need some time to yourself without feeling so guilty. I believe it takes a whole lot more out of a mom to ask for some help. 1. You’re just a little prideful because you want to show everyone you can handle it. Am I right? 2. You are handling it, everything might be just dandy but you kind of envy the mama’s who have that go-to person, even their husband, who encourages them to get out of the house. Go read a book in the park or have a dinner or drink with a friend.
Trust me… I’ve been there I need just need extra ear that says “how are YOU doing”? Life can get a head of us in unexpected ways. What if you ARE looking for mom friends who can relate to you on a serious level without judgement?? There’s a way. I’m gonna be real with you and tell you this awesome hack but let me just say, if you’re going through a rough patch, mama, we’ve all been there or we’re getting there soon. I hope you’re able to catch a breath this week. Maybe you’re financially bearing all the weight right now, or physically can’t make it up out of the funk in your life. You will get there. One thing I like to remind others who are struggling is there are soooo many children out there without homes, or parents who adore them. I was one of them (for more, click here). But that just goes to show how HARD it is to be a mother or father. It wasn’t a responsibility made for everyone. It’s unfortunate to say out loud and the goal here is to just love your little ones with all your might. Because somewhere out there there are parent giving up left and right. You’re doing better than that! You’re trying and your intentions are there.
For a moment, or how ever long you need, hug yourself a little tighter or your loved ones and just think, you ARE an amazing mama. You breaking your back and putting others first is the sure fire way to know you’re doing a great job. You did freak out but you’ll bounce back. You do DO a good portion of all it takes to raise a little one with little to no help or support, but you’re stronger for it. You may be financially struggling and it’s affecting your overall relationship but you will learn the tools it takes to find the help you need.
So my little hack right now for you is to join Peanut. It’s an app for parents or people trying to become parents.
Peanut is an app that is designed with all mothers in mind. I had troubles TTC with my first and this app helped me through it. I could post anonymously if I didn’t want my name branded on my issues. I made some virtual mom friends. Wait? What? Yes. Mom’s just like me. It has a cool feature that is similar to tinder. Hahaha yep, tinder, but not in the way that is going on in your mind right now. It is similar to tinder’s swipe feature. If you check out another mama’s profile and you feel you gals could be a great match, ie. Have the same number of children, you’re an army wife, you love to workout, you’re both expecting, etc you just Swipe up to “wave” and down to move to the next Peanut member. I absolutely found this app to be different than the others. It has more features that just make it feel more genuine. Idk sometimes you’ll get connections and they don’t feel like the chemistry is there, for example, I had a gal just give me one word responses. That’s gonna happen! Peanut is still so new it isn’t as common to some and it probably feels like stranger is just reaching out to them. But if you’re both communicative enough the similarities will come out for sure.
So if you’re in need of some mom friends or you just need another search engine, give it a try. Click here to get the app in the App Store. I love that I can search a concern I’ve been having with my 2 year old and I can reach out and find groups or posts with the most accurate content. I’m not bogged down with google’s wide spread info and running to the ER. Hahah raise your hand if you’ve been there. To learn more about this hack click here.
